Team Mojo Foundation | Mission and Case Statements
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Team Mojo Foundation is to create opportunities for underprivileged young people in the areas of education, art, music, sports, life skills and other worthwhile endeavors by providing support, guidance and financial assistance.
We will identify candidates by networking with school administrators, teachers, counselors and coaches, as well as churches, government officials, community leaders and others who share our vision.
CASE STATEMENTS (fictional examples of putting the mission statement to work)

Unfortunately her father recently lost his job and her parents can’t afford the cost. The Team Mojo Foundation would provide financial assistance to enable Jerrica to join her friends until her family was able to take care of the additional expense themselves.
Malik is a local playground legend but gets left out of school sports because he lives with this homebound grandmother and can’t get to/from practices and games. Bobby is confined to a hand-me-down wheelchair, but dreams of a better model that would allow him more mobility and confidence, as well as help him strive for his dream to be a Paralympian. The Team Mojo Foundation would assist Bobby’s family in securing a more modern wheelchair better suited for an active young person who aspires to challenge himself.

Trent was involved in scouting as a kid and aspired to earn the rank of Eagle just as his father and grandfather had. When Trent’s dad passed away several years go, extra-curricular activities like scouting no longer fit in their single-parent budget. The Team Mojo Foundation would help Trent and his mother get him back into scouting in hopes of carrying on the family tradition.
It’s senior year and high school sweethearts and honor students Evan and Julie want more than anything to attend the prom. Both families aren’t able to afford even the simplest attire, shoes, and flowers, let alone the very pricey tickets. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with both families to help find appropriate outfits and accessories, to make sure the deserving couple made prom memories to last a lifetime.
Connie’s father is terminally ill and confined to a hospital in Cleveland, but her parents are divorced and she lives with her mother hours away with no way to visit her dad. The Team Mojo Foundation would assist Connie in securing safe and reliable transportation to enable her to spend time with her father when he needs her love and attention the most.
Eric shows promise on the basketball court but misses out on camps and AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) programs during the off-season due to financial hardship and uninformed parents. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with his school coaches to help Eric and others like him take advantage of these important character-building opportunities.
School field trips are important learning experiences for students, but many are left behind simply due to the inability to pay the fees/meals/expenses. The Team Mojo Foundation would establish a fund for local schools to tap into as they see fit to make sure no deserving student misses out on these experiences.
All of Mikalya’s older siblings attended Camp Fitch as fifth graders and she’s been looking forward to her turn, but her family’s financial situation has taken a turn for the worse in recent years, something that is out of Mikayla’s control. The Team Mojo Foundation would ensure that she had the chance to continue the family tradition just like her brothers and sisters.
Simon struggles with weight issues and low self-esteem. The local youth soccer program would be a good start for him to enjoy some interaction with kids his age, and get some exercise. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with the leaders of such organizations to make sure the kids like Simon that need it most don’t get left out.
Sydney anxiously awaits all the local parades so she can watch the baton and drill teams pass by, dancing and strutting to the music. She has a simple dream ofjoining such a troupe and waving to the crowd as part of the parade itself. Sydney’s foster parents aren’t able to provide what is needed. The Team Mojo Foundation would help her dream come true with financial assistance and support.

Now that Michael is 16, he could be a big help to his family by getting his driver’s license, but they can’t afford the fee. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with Michael and his aunt to make sure he is able to complete the proper requirements for driver’s education.
Recent high school graduate Ashleigh had to put college on hold after an unplanned pregnancy. She doesn’t want to become dependent on government assistance and has a strong desire to get some training to support herself and her child. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with Ashleigh to enable her to get the schooling she needs to become a productive member of society and support her young family honorably.

When the coach posted the team roster, Stephen was ecstatic to learn he’d made the team, but knows he probably won’t be able to get to and from practices and games. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with the coach and Stephen’s family to make sure this opportunity wasn’t lost just because of transportation issues.

It’s all he and his family can do to cover the costs of tuition, books, and supplies, but he really needs some academic help to make sure he can continue. The Team Mojo Foundation would work with Marcus and his college teachers and advisors to secure a tutor and make sure he can earn his degree.
The persons mentioned in these case statements are fictitious, but represent real possibilities of how the Team Mojo Foundation could help young people in our tri-state area (OH, PA, WV).
